- Partying like it's 1999...
It began at Rosie O’Grady’s Sunday afternoon club – Come Down and Meet the The Folks – ran then by Big Steve Pulford (Arlenes) and Alan Tyler (The Rockingbirds). It was on one these Sunday afternoons, that the saloon doors swung open and in shambled the bloodied rhythm back bone of frankly misguided studio band The Knewbloods, pumped up like a couple of pirates on extended on shore leave they prowled the back room of Rosie’s scanning for talent…
And talent they found... within minutes Mike Hughes (bass) & Matt Saunders (Drums) along with Tom Bowen (Guitars), Robin Brookes (Vocals) and Darren Churchill on keys formed the definitive line-up of Goldwing. They rehearsed regulary at – contender then for Camden’s grottiest studio – Playground. They quickly threw together a blistering playlist of shimmering new country inspired pop-rock… and the EPs “Goldwing One”, "Wing It" and "The Royal College Sessions" produced by Boz Boorer and Tim Hill respectively, soon followed.
The band built a local reputation for great tunes, heavy drinking and arguments over unearned Rock 'n' Roll royalties. Combine that with the diet of sex and drugs... well you can write your own ending.

Goldwing gave it their best shot.
